Teams - Participants/Agendas/Phone Audio/Blur Backgrounds

TIPS!

Tip #1: Blur your background in a Teams meeting

Did you know that you can blur your background when sharing your video in a Teams meeting? Its super easy! You can do this before joining a meeting or while in a meeting. Before you join a meeting click on the icon as shown below to blur your background.

You can also hover over the menu bar in the meeting, click on the 3 dots, and select blur my background.

Tip #2: Check participants

Not sure who has joined the meeting? Check your participants list by hovering over the menu bar in a meeting and clicking the icon as shown below.

You can see who has joined, who was invited, and if they responded to the meeting invite. You can also tell if a participant is on mute by the icon near their name.

TRICKS:

Trick #1: Use your cell phone for audio in a Teams meeting while also using your camera.

If you don’t have a headset or microphone you can still join teams from your profile and have the meeting call your cell phone for audio. That way, if you are sharing your video or your screen the audio is connected through your phone instead of appearing as 2 participants. When you first join a meeting you will see this screen, click on Phone audio.

Enter your phone number and click Call me

You will receive a call from 503-446-3730 and be connected directly to the meeting through your Teams profile. You can control mute from your phone.

Trick #2: Create an agenda or share meeting information in your Teams meeting.

If you provide ample details about the meeting agenda or other pertinent information in the body of the invite in Outlook or in Teams (both examples shown below), it will carry over to Meeting Details in Teams, so when you kick off your meeting, people can easily see the details! Note: Attachments to the original Outlook invite do not carry over to the Meeting Details
